Seeing Double: Sitcom Hangover Edition

There are few things we love more than sitcoms about young, single professionals trying to make it in a thriving metropolis. One of our currents, The Mindy Project is premiering it's 3rd season next week (huzzah for fall TV!). In anticipation we checked out some promo photos of the cast, they couldn't help but remind us of some dearly departed friends...pun intended.

BONUS : In a Diner Edition In Bed Editon (Mindy can tackle this for Season 4!)

Happy weekend, rest up you have a heavy week of Fall premieres ahead!

Kim and Kanye take Paris

What an Awesome and wondrous Labour Day gift we received from Kimye: A Wedding Special!

And bless Kim’s heart for trying so hard to make it seem like it was her first. The occasion was supposedly filled with many secrets and surprises. I attribute this to Kim herself being in the dark about most of her own wedding plans, but I digress. Between E! Online, Instagram and every single news outlet on the planet, I felt very few details hadn’t surfaced yet, but just in case you missed them: let's review some of the inside scoop revealed last night:

Un: Kim Kardashian is a Parisian Tourism Ambassador. Thank god we finally have someone to show us all of the hidden gems in this unknown city.

Deux: Having Kanye West, whom you've likely only met sparingly, pick out a dress for you to wear without any input is obnoxious. Also his opinion on slits is final.

Trois: Mr. West understands that best friend isn’t a person but a tier; a classic Mindy Lahiri life lesson. Those three groomsmen looked like a barrel of laughs didn’t they?

Quatre: North West! Oh wait. We’ve seen her already. I’ll buy someone a million Instagram likes if they can logically explain to me why Nori’s face had to be blurred on that iPhone after we had seen her two scenes earlier? KONFUSED.

Cinq: Kendall Jenner is a model. I hadn't heard.

Six: The Kardashians‘ family and friends have iPhones that capture flawless HD Video and high quality sound. Either that or they stole footage they paid paparazzi to capture in-between driving Rob Kardashian out of the country. *

*E! definitely filmed this episode.

Dashingly yours,

Lauren

Wednesday Links: Eye + Ear Candy Edition

Do you need a break?

Are you stressed?

Do you want to relive the past and learn new things?

Well, here we present to you some fun stuff on the internet!

1. What Ikea Looked Like 50 Years Ago: It's no secret we are big time Ikea lovers, so we were delighted to see this retrospective of Ikea through the decades. Can you believe there are people on this earth who have never even been to an Ikea, let alone enjoyed an Ikea meatball?!?!? Also, who knew the Lack side table has been around since the 80's? Keep up the good work Ikea.

2. Stream Carefully Curated Jayoncé Radio Playlists: Colour us excited! Tonight is the Toronto On The Run concert and we could not be more thrilled. These playlists are simply fanning the flames.

3. See all the times OITNB actors appeared on Law & Order: This one is just good old fashion fun! It's always neat to watch old eppies of L&O and see future stars.

Friday Links: Because Internet Edition

Well, it finally looks like winter 2014 is behind us. Thank Beyoncé.

Today we are sharing with you some super fun stuff we found on the Internets guys!

1. One Star Reviews of Classic Literature on Amazon: The title of this tumblr speaks for itself. The Internet really brings out the best in people…

2. Flat Vs. Realism: This website is dedicated to illustrating the battle between flat vs realistic design aesthetics. You might not really care, but it totally affects you since you use websites and apps like all the time. Graphic designy artsy fartsy pretentious snobs (like us) will totally get it and have all kinds of opinions.

3. You can use Emojis on Twitter Now: HIP HIP HOORAH! Three cheers for Twitter and the internets! Anyway, this should open up all sorts of fun things. For example using the classic Emoji of two women salsa dancing in red dresses will save you upwards of 20 characters when describing your girls only Saturday night apartment dance party. #win

4. And naturally, we will finish this Internet post with a cat video. Enjoy chums! We never get tired of supporting the Viral Cat Video industry as a whole.

They're back. We're hooked.

Hot on the heels of a possible James Franco Catfish (won't bore you with our opinion, but we're leaning towards it's a hoax and/or he's creepy!) we've been graced with a trailer from our favourite MTV duo. Catfish Season 3 is on its way people, and we CANNOT WAIT -- particularly since the show teaches us such valuable dating and life lessons. Happy to see Nev's sage 'request a picture with your name' advice employed during the aforementioned scandal. Sure, it doesn't make the situation less troubling, but you should never be too careful.

Enjoy this sneak peek of what is to come! According to our favourite silver fox, it's gonna be dark, cold and twisted.

They're back May 7.

Beyoncé Palate Cleanse

Your daily dose of Beyoncé inspiration comes from an unlikely source: A Toyota commercial! But you won't see us complaining, mostly because we need something to cleanse our palates and news regarding at least one member of the actual #worldsmosttalkedaboutcouple helps.

“Every day I wake up, I make a choice: not to let the world decide for me.” Shame, she's just one day late in dispensing this wisdom to Ms. Wintour.

#beyutiful

Decide to get going and happy Saturday,

Us

P.S. Did you also notice this?? Don't roll your partitions up too prematurely though, T.O. isn't listed.

Friday Links: EL OH EL Edition

Well, it's been a confusing and offensive week. We mean weather-wise of course. Mother nature is a triflin' prankster!

If you're like us, you're looking for a quick and painless pick-me-up (and you don't wanna leave your house…). So, here we present to you some hilarious links to get you started on your winter-weather-sadness recovery.

1. Comedy Central's web series turned real TV series Broad City: This show is so fucking hilarious, we can barely keep our shit together and we are finding ourselves using gratuitous expletives. These two gurlz are just that funny. We like to think of this show as an amalgamation of Inside Amy Shumer and Flight of the Conchords. We *highly* recommend. Get it?!?! Watch the episodes here.

2. The most amazing spoof of the Bachelor, Burning Love: Don't get it twisted, we love the Bachelor franchise and everything it stands for, but we are also aware of how totally batshit most of the contestants are. The E! web series Burning Love represents everything we love to hate about the show and it's spot on. You will recognize a ton of the actors from Joss Whedon shows. We are particularly fond of season 2, Julie's season. Check out some of the episodes here.

3. Drunk In Love is a great song/video, this spoof is just as amazing. Obviously, we love a good spoof and totally consider it an art form. Dunkin Love is freaking hysterical. Watch the video here and go get yourself some Dunkin Love. BONUS VIDEO: The emoji edition of Drunk In Love is oddly satisfying…

Have a cheerful Friday!

PPBB Presents: Oscars Drinking Game 2014

Sunday is the big show, sportsfans! We hope you are gathering with your nearest and dearest to watch Ellen host Hollywood's Superbowl. For those of you who drink, we have provided a fun little game to cheers to! Get your beer, cocktail, beer cocktail, wine, and, of course, champers all opened and poured and get tipsy this Sunday during the Academy Awards, as Streep would have intended.

Kardashian Kastastrophe

And I don’t just mean Bruce Jenner's ponytail! Disturbing, yes. But the least of the family's worries since Season 9 started off in the middle of two whirlwind marriage separations. Though we've come to terms with the simultaneous end of Khloe/Lamar & Kris/Bruce, the emotions were still raw during last night's premiere. Blank stares and the inability to remove one's sunglasses truly do speak volumes! Thankfully, however, not everyone is in shambles. So we should really be focusing on the positive aspects of Kardashian life.

Kendall: Now that she is pulling her own weight (i.e. dating Harry Styles!) they’ve given her some powerful lines this season. Hold onto your emotions as Kendall speaks up during a family meeting regarding the separation; also she doesn’t seem to understand biology and thinks she no longer has siblings. Moving stuff.

Kim: During the episode Kim finally admitted to being nervous about motherhood. But, not to worry, she loves it now that her baby is trending on Twitter.

Rob: The self-proclaimed patriarch (possibly fueling those Bruce sex-change rumours?) moved out and furnished his pad with Cîroc from Puffy! Also, there is a medical reason for the recent weight gain, let's all join Brandon Jenner in a look of shock followed by sigh of relief.

Kourtney: I shamefully missed that Instagram of her joyously stomping grapes Lucy style, so thank goodness I watched the episode.

Let's all look forward to a new season. Do not fret, even without the boys it looks drama filled!

Dashingly yours,

Lauren

Tuesday Links: Golden Globe Wrap Up Edition

The Golden Globes are officially over and thanks so much for caring about what we had to say yesterday! Now it's time to care about what other awesome people had to say (or what we forgot to mention). We're particularly obsessed with the above picture of the Michael Fassbender and Benedict Cumberbatch dance off! Happy surfing.

1. Best of the Celebrity Instas! You'd also be Instagramming your little hearts out if you'd been there, #nofilter needed!

2. Mandatory RC Uniforms!? Pretty sure we'd still be asking who wore it best.

3. Tina and Amy's Opening Monologue. 'Cause why not watch them kill it over and over again??

4. Great recap courtesy of GQ. We'll be tucking some of these memes away for later.

5. So, Jared Leto's trendsetting look is the equivalent of how my hair looks like when I'm letting it air dry. Go figure.

6. The photobomb heard around the world. Or the single most important photo from the red carpet. According to Ryan Seacrest anyway.

7. Bradley and Leo. Are you obsessed with this friendship yet, inappropriately aged supermodel girlfriends aside.

8. Party Timeline. Because celebrities are just like us, they get drunk and dance to Blurred Lines.

9. Backstage Polaroids! Adorable.

Your Unauthorized PPBB Christmas Viewing Schedule

Happy December Y'all!

10 TV Grievances (and why they remind us that television could, sadly, never be reality)

Even if you won't admit it, this is a familiar scenario: You're 15 episodes deep into a binge watch, but have a cursed social commitment. Instead of cancelling, you forcibly tear yourself away from the TV set. Regardless of being out socializing in civilization, all you can focus on is what you might be missing at Pope and Associates!!

Yes friends, TV is a cruel mistress and honestly we wish we had advice to bestow on how to skillfully avoid the above scenario. What we do have, however, is a list of TV grievances that will snap you back to reality! Prepare to have your mind blown and we apologize in advance for shattering any illusions.

10. When people never have time to eat that delicious breakfast (insert any daily meal here really), yet seem to have an abundance of free time before work and/or school. TV Land: Five different types of pancakes mystically appear, complimented with bacon/sausage combo plus toast and brewed coffee. Everyone nonchalantly walks past them to get on with their storyline of the week (which generally includes roughly 3 dramatic happenings before the work day commences, presumably at 11 am??). There is no sign of dirty dishes.

Reality: You generally opt for 15 minutes of extra sleep thus barely have time to toast a piece of bread in the am. On the off chance you want to wake up at 5 am to cook, everything is burnt, you're obviously late AND you forgo the clean up of this failed attempt for days.

9. When couples face a forgotten anniversary or partner's birthday.

TV Land: Husbands forget anniversaries and birthdays like they are Jessica Simpson hits.

Reality: You talk about plans months in advance; particularly milestone occasions (also, why have family and friends failed to inquire about what special things you've got planned?!) If you're expecting a vacation or extravagant party: venues must be picked, vacation time requested and you've likely (annoyingly) been posting a countdown on your Facebook for weeks. This guy had no chance at forgetting.

8. When people just order "beer." TV Land: There is a universally good tasting alcohol on tap called "beer".

Reality: Waitress looks at you impatiently like you're from another country, waiting for you to identify Molson, Heineken, Stella, et al. We realize that this is likely a TV tactic to avoid brand names/unpaid product placement, but come on! They could at least specify the type of beer i.e. light, IPA, pilsner.

Come Play with Us (& wear these Mary Janes)

Halloween weekend is upon us and it's freezing in Toronto. Yes, these two things are unrelated but it fits the tone of this spooky recreation of the Grady Twins, featuring Kiernan Shipka. We LOVE it and it may be the closest we actually come to celebrating All Hallow's Eve this year (let's be honest, no matter how remarkable it is, one's famous mime costume can only be worn so many times).

Also, we've decided to take advantage of the aforementioned weather restrictions and devote the day to online shopping. The money we saved by staying warm in bed, combined with our fixation of the above has scarily led us on a hunt for the Mui Mui shoes used in the shoot...is there a neighborhood where we could trick or treat for pumps?

Click here if you're also interested.

Additionally, we also like these similarly fashioned Valentinos just incase anyone feels inclined to buy us an extravagant Halloween gift.

Happy Halloween y'all, now go get cray and light the black flame candle!

Jason Street in Crocs

You read that right...we are a bag full of emotions at the sight of this! On one foot, we are positively ebullient with gratitude at the sight of these hunks hanging out, but we just cannot accept that Six fully wears Crocs in his everyday life! Coach would be ashamed.

Why can't he take a page out of Luke Cafferty's book and sport some casual, yet on trend navy Vans? Hmmm??? Is that too much to ask? Doesn't he know that comfort must take a backseat to fashion? Doesn't he??

Sorry for all the loud questions. We told you we were emotional.

Anyway, back to our original point: these dudes are handsome and we miss them.

Highlight of the Week: Three-Year-Old Beyoncé Dancer

Just to be clear we plan on raising all future kin like this.

Can't believe we've overlooked such a fool proof way of getting Beyoncé's attention until now!

Who's Your TV Alter Ego?

It's fall, so we can only assume that you're currently living vicariously through a new episode of your favourite TV show. It isn't our intention to interrupt you, but if you do find yourself with a little extra buffering time (we totally sympathize!) between shows why not determine once and for all who your TV land alter ego is?

We've scientifically (obviously, not really) pinpointed the personality types of four of our most viewed and esteemed lead female characters. Take the quiz to find out which one you are!

And now we humbly suggest you go and watch the premiere episode staring your counterpart, unless, unfortunately, you're a Hannah (we can actually hear you moaning about the Girls 2014 premiere date right now!).

Looking at Boys in Magazines: Eastwood 2.0

Loyal readers will recall that last week we shared a dreamy picture of young Clint Eastwood, click here for a refresher. This week the stars fully aligned to provide us with a perfect follow up post in the form of one Scott Eastwood. Scott, son of Clint, is a supposed actor, avid surfer and all around hunk.

Enjoy these images of him, as featured in Town and Country:

NOTE: Our research department (ie. Google) confirms he never appeared on Mrs. Eastwood and Company AND will be starring in a movie with Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf. He's legit.

Gasp!

Admittedly we are late to the party on this one but just watched the promo for Revenge Season 3 last night, and you guys: gasp!

Yes, we too grew a little indifferent towards Emily Thornes vengeful antics last season (until SPOILER: she revealed her Amanda Clarkness to Jack and that insufferable Declan bit the dust!) but now, consider us hooked back in. If you haven't viewed, please take a moment and watch your jaw drop! Also, eyes peeled for a sexy looking Daniel in sunglasses and equally sexy new shirtless guy.

The show returns September 29.

Ps. Looks as if someones trying for a back-to-back Bangin' Award win with that wedding gown!
